Cooking and Baking

These little guys were so much fun to make and eat.
I used a box cake mix, orange frosting with sprinkles, and halloween peeps.
Bake the cupcakes according to the package directions, frost and sprinkle.
Now comes the not so tricky part, insert toothpicks half way in the bottom of the peeps then poke them into the cupcakes. These are fun and easy to make! Enjoy!

2 turning 2

My babies are now two years old. It doesn't seem possible, they are growing up way too fast. I keep a daily planner on my kitchen counter but I don't use it for the usual scheduling of plans. In this planner I do my best to write down the little things that happen in our day, things that I know I'd forget it I didn't put pen to paper. Although I try to keep up with the writing, somedays I don't get anything down.  I'm only human.
Anyway, my babies turned two and we had a fun filled weekend with them. We started on Saturday taking them to Build a Bear. I think this was maybe more for us than for them because when we arrived they were only interested in running around the store. This makes me laugh everytime I think about it. Twenty minutes passed and they were still running and still weren't interested in making a bear or any other animal for that matter. Now it was up to me to pick them out and let me tell you it was fun. I chose a monkey for one and a tiger for the other. I was successful in getting the boys to kiss the heart before we placed it inside, that being the end of their participation. Upon finishing at the store we went to have dinner at their favorite place to eat, Chick-Fil-A!
They giggled and squealed as we walked inside the resturant, loving every minute of their time there.
Sunday we went to the park to play. Oh, how they love to be outside in the sunshine. We had a blast chasing them around. I know they enjoyed it as well.
Sunday night we gave them CAKE! They are funny boys though because they don't like sweets, so naturally they weren't into the cupcakes. Neither one wanted to eat them. We took pictures (one of the boys cried the entire time) and then they were done. Someday I know they will be happy on their birthday and someday they will probably eat cake. For now, we will just enjoy the park and taking pictures of them with their cakes.

Our beginning

Our story starts off like a lot of other stories, a handsome man meets a beautiful woman, they fall in love. After a year of dating he asks her to marry him and with tears in her eyes she says "Yes, yes, of course I'll marry you".  Not long after that, one lovely June afternoon, they were happily married.
Then came the honeymoon...........we'll skip the details here.

We moved into a little house we were renting. Life was bliss! We were married and loving it. It didn't get much better than this but wait, our story is just beginning.

Two weeks after we said our "I do's", we found out it was no longer going to be just the two of us. That's right, we had a little one on the way. Although we both wanted to have children, we didn't expect it to happen this soon. All that being said, we couldn't have been more happy. For weeks we went to doctor's appointments, planned and dreamed about our little one, and I had convinced myself that it was a girl to the point where I had already purchased some girly outfits. When I was 21 weeks along in the pregnancy, we drove to the doctor's office with anticipation as to wheither we were having a boy or girl. Being emotional, like I am, I cried the whole 40 minute drive because I really, REALLY wanted it to be a girl. I was so silly.

So, we're in the room, getting the ultrasound of the baby when the ultrasound technician asked my husband and I something we were not expecting..........

"You've been told you are having twins, right?"

To our utter shock and amazement, she wasn't kidding with us. Yes, there were two babies there the whole time. At this point I wasn't worried about having a girl, in fact, I was exstastic about having two boys. Two little boys, and we were going to be blessed to be their parents. We were speechless! After seeing both of them for the first time and finding out that they were growing and healthy, we breathed a sigh of relief. "Two boys", we kept saying to each other, "two boys".
